Managing Director
Andrew has over 30 years' experience in the property and construction industry.
He began his working life as an apprentice learning the skills of traditional stonemasonry at one of the country's leading specialists in stonework restoration. During this time, he was involved in the cleaning and conservation of numerous prestigious historic buildings, structures and sculptures, most notably Clarence House, the Royal Observatory and Marlborough House to name but a few.
Wishing to develop the invaluable knowledge he had already gained, Andrew embarked on an Honours Degree at the University of Greenwich and subsequently progressed to become qualified as an RICS Chartered Building Surveyor and Registered Valuer.
Andrew went on to work for a number of property developers and then local government. He was appointed Head of Surveying for one of the largest housing associations in London and proceeded to become Head of Asset Management for a London Borough Council, where he was responsible for managing and maintaining the Council's housing stock.
Andrew founded the EMP Chartered Surveyors in 2012 and remains passionate about historic building preservation and protecting our architectural heritage. He naturally specialises in period and listed properties, but also undertakes a range of services including residential building surveys and valuations, aerial photography, party wall matters and expert witness reports.
Director
Lesley joined EMP Chartered Surveyors as a Partner in 2014 and is responsible for administration and finance. Having worked in London for many years, initially in the banking sector and then for a multinational law firm, she took a brief career break, after which she worked for a sole practitioner Chartered Surveyor and then joined a local law firm specialising in Conveyancing.
Residential Surveyor & Valuer
Juan Miguel is a qualified Civil and Structural Engineer who graduated from Marta Abreu University of Las Villas in Cuba, continuing a family tradition in engineering and following in his father's and elder siblings' footsteps.
Juan Miguel joined EMP Chartered Surveyors in February 2016 and subsequently converted his construction and engineering knowledge to become a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors at Associate level.
Juan Miguel predominantly undertakes Party Wall matters, CS Home Survey Report - Levels 1, 2 & 3. He also utilises his engineering skills to assist our Land Surveyor with CAD drawings and Land Surveys.
Land Surveyor & Drone Pilot
Simon is a Land Surveyor with over 14 years' industry experience, specialising in Measured Surveys of all descriptions from residential, industrial, retail and land. Recently, he has also completed his CAA PfCO for Commercial Drone Operations, qualifying him to add aerial surveying – including roof surveys, mapping and chimney inspections - to the list of surveying services offered by EMP Chartered Surveyors.
Simon acts for a wide range of clients including Solicitors, Structural Engineers, Architects, Chartered Surveyors, Property Developers, Commercial Property Agents, Asset Management Firms and Private Clients.
